We are just starting the roll-out of a new, streamlined overlay. This makes it even nicer to access your payment cards and passes through Pixel Double-Tap Gesture. 

The latest update offers an enhanced approach. This aims to make contactless payments and access your digital essentials right here in a fast and intuitive way.

The complete App Launch to make Quick Payments

Although this works, it may be a tad clunky. All you had to do was just tap and pay at a nearby shop. Google Wallet is an overlay that alters this completely.

When you tap it now and have to double-tap, you will see a sleek semi-transparent window gracefully open on top. The layering also has a minimally blurred background.

This is accompanied by a clear animation of how to hold the reader. This will give you a visual reference as to how you will execute your transaction in the NFC terminal.

After your payment is accomplished, the overlay is painless in its demise. Now you are back in the app you were using almost instantly.

Availability  

This is an exciting new overlay and is a part of a gradual rollout. It has been spotted on Pixel devices running Android 16.

The rollout may not be all that full, with more Pixel users in other countries getting it in the next few weeks.

Here, it is worth mentioning that the original double-tap gesture. This was implemented to bring the Google Wallet is an Android 16 feature.

One step closer to Smooth Transactions 

This update highlights Google continuing its mission to enhance the mobile payment experience and ensure it is as smooth and convenient as possible.

Google is enabling a certain payment-only interface with provided clean and fast facilities. It aims to make contactless interactions is adequately enhancing the user experience.

This step further cements Google Wallet as being mobile-friendly and yet an extension of the overall mobile experience among Pixel users right here.
